Hello Kenya,
Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question! It's fantastic to hear that you're planning a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort. I'm sure you and your family are eagerly anticipating all the magic and fun that awaits.
Whether or not you need to make reservations to enter the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort depends on the
type of ticket you purchase. Theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets. A date-based ticket requires you to choose a start date when you purchase. This means that if you have a date-based 1-day ticket, date-based multi-day ticket, vacation package with date-based tickets, a 4-Park Magic Ticket, or a 3-Day, 3-Park Ticket, you will not need a theme park reservation.
However, for other admission types,
theme park reservations may still be required. The following ticket types will need to make a theme park reservation: student group tickets, sport and convention tickets, a Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket, a Disney Military Salute Ticket, an Annual Pass, or any other ticket types not mentioned above.
Here’s a friendly tip: Use the My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website to check the specifics of your ticket type and manage your plans, including dining reservations and mobile food orders. Being organized in advance will help ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience for your family.
Thank you again for reaching out, Kenya. Have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, and if you have any more questions as your trip approaches, feel free to ask!
Best Wishes,
~Yael
