Hi Annamarie!
In just a couple of months you will be with your family in sight of Cinderella Castle!
Walt Disney World is the perfect spot for a family reunion!
Have you considered a split stay? If you divide your trip into two blocks of dates, 12/4-12/7 and 12/7-12/11 for example, you will find some availability. A split stay allows you to enjoy two resorts in one trip. You could stay half of the time in a budget friendly
value resort and then splurge on a
deluxe resort for the second part of your vacation. I played around with your dates a bit and found multiple arrangements that would work for your calendar. Disney will even move your luggage for you. Drop off your bags at Bell Services in the morning as you check out of your first hotel, and then pick them up at the second resort later the same day. My family typically piles all our gear into the car, heads to a theme park, and then drives to our new resort for check in after a day of zipping and dipping on coasters and eating Mickey shaped ice cream.
Also try being a vigilant checker of the
Walt Disney World Resorts page. Plans change and people do cancel resort reservations. For an upcoming trip, I found almost no availability. I bookmarked the site set for my preferred search on my phone and checked each morning before I got out of bed. Eventually rooms opened up and I was able to snag my preferred resort.
Sending some pixie dust your way, Annamarie, in the hopes you find a room reservation.
