Hiya Manuel,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for submitting your question to us!
The Disneyland Resort is the place where Walt Disney once said, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome”. Since then, guests from around the world have come to celebrate the magic of Disney at the park that started it all! However, this means that the parks come close to reaching capacity, and the Disneyland Resort needed a system for tracking the number of guests that wish to enter the parks. This is why park reservations were implemented.
As of today, the Disneyland Resort still requires guests to have both a
valid theme park ticket and
theme park reservation for admission into the parks (subject to change). Guests can review park reservation availability ahead of time on the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar, which accounts for the variety of tickets available. Guests who possess a
Magic Key have their own set of park reservations they can view on the
Magic Key Calendar. Without a park reservation, even guests who have a theme park ticket will not be granted admission into the parks.
I recommend checking the Theme Park Reservation Calendar beforehand to ensure the parks do not reach capacity on the day you wish to visit. An unused one-day ticket is valid through December 30, 2025, and a multi-day ticket must be used within 13 days of first use or by January 12, 2026, whichever occurs first (dates subject to change). You can purchase a ticket whenever you like, but the theme park reservation must be for the day you wish to visit the parks.
If you have other questions about the Disneyland Resort, remember - you’ve got a friend in me!
