Do I need reservations for a Disney water park and putt putt?

Hi there Christi, it's great to see you back at planDisney with more questions!

It sounds like you're looking for ways to explore your options outside of the theme parks, and as someone who values these kinds of side-quest adventures I'm absolutely happy to help! There was certainly a time when it felt like everyone needed a reservation for everything here at Walt Disney World Resort, and while Theme Park Reservations are certainly still needed for select types of admission, you'll be happy to hear that these currently not required to enjoy either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach water parks.

When it comes to Recreational Activities however, it's typically best to make a reservation in advance - especially when you're aiming for more popular times or perhaps less flexibility in your day to wait around for a walk-up spot. This has certainly been the case at times at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf; during our most recent visit we experienced a bit of a lengthier wait for the Fantasia Gardens course when we walked up without a reservation - while we were also welcome to play the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course without much of a wait. From my observations this is largely due to the popularity of the whimsical obstacles throughout the Fantasia Gardens course and the number of families who like to take their time as they play through.

Similarly, over at Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, you may want to call to make a reservation when it gets busier - especially around the holidays when folks and families want to enjoy and take photos with its distinctly festive theming. In my experience, it has also seen more hustle and bustle whenever Disney's Blizzard Beach is open and I wonder whether the Water Park Perk for Disney Resort Hotel guests in 2025 will make advance reservations be more of a necessity!

I hope that this helps, Christi - keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as you prepare for your next visit and we look forward to having you back here at planDisney again soon!

Here's to enjoying all the Disney recreation with or without reservations!
