Hiya Jill! Welcome to planDisney!
One of the best parts of a Walt Disney World vacation is the complimentary
Disney Transportation that is offered all around the Resort! Having the option to hop on a boat, take a ride on the Disney Skyliner, or a loop on the monorail make getting to your destination fun in itself! Having recently returned from a stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, I used the
Watercraft service on a few occasions. Let's discuss how it works and the best options for your visit!
Reservations are not required or accepted to take a boat from Riverside to
Disney Springs. You'll just need to show up at the Marina just behind the main lobby when you are ready to travel over. In my experience, there is a boat that comes about every 15- to 30-minutes, but this may change depending on the time of day and how busy the Watercraft service is.
The Watercraft service begins at 10 AM each day and runs until later that night. This is weather-depending, so if a storm rolls through or flooding occurs, Water Transportation may be suspended for a period of time. During my stay, we received a lot of rain in the middle of the day. Even after the storm passed and the rain stopped, boats were still not running due to high water levels. Keep this in mind when planning your transportation. There should be a
bus running from Riverside to Disney Springs in addition to the boat service, so that will be an option for you as well.
Jill, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming visit! I'm excited about all the Disney memories you are bound to make!
See ya real soon!
