Do I need a reservation at Space 220 lounge if we only want drinks? Is the bar first come first serve?

    Hi Jill!

Welcome to planDisney!  I love that you want to try an out-of-this-world experience at Space 220 Lounge in EPCOT.  This unique dining location has you board an elevator that transports you to outer space where you can gaze at the stars!  Let's talk about how you can blast off to enjoy all that is offered here.

Jill, both Space 220 Restaurant and Space 220 Lounge offer advanced dining reservations.  Given the popularity of these locations, I highly recommend grabbing a reservation if you can!  I chatted with a Cast Member who shared that there also is a limited amount of bar seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Since it looks like you are within 60 days of your arrival, you should be able to start checking availability for a reservation now either on the Walt Disney World Resort website or your My Disney Experience Mobile App.  A new search feature was just released today which will hopefully make finding those dining reservations even easier.  Now you can enter a range of dates and see all of the reservations available over that time instead of searching each day separately!

If you are unable to grab an advanced dining reservation right now, don't give up!  I always recommend continuing to check back as you count down to your arrival - and even once you've arrived!  Plans change frequently and many Walt Disney World Resort restaurants allow cancellations up to two hours before the reservation without penalty.  This means that you can sometimes find some great reservations available at the last minute!  Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability is another feature in the My Disney Experience Mobile App that allows you to join a walk-up list, when available, at select Table-Service dining locations.

While you're in the park, don't forget to take the time to enjoy all that is offered at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.  Besides the beautiful topiaries, there are many delicious food and drink options available at the various Outdoor Kitchens.  I always like to check out the Foodie Guide before attending an EPCOT festival so I can make a plan to eat and drink my way around the world!

Jill, I hope this helps as you make plans to enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort this spring!  If you have any other vacation planning questions, please stop by to see me or any of my panelist pals here at planDisney again - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
    Kristi
