Do I need a reservation to park at The Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread house? We would like to go see it on our non park day. We are staying off property.

Welcome to planDisney, Kathryn! Thanks for asking a question about my favorite Walt Disney World Resort!

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a great resort to visit at any time of the year, but there is something extra magical about it during the most wonderful time of the year! Each year, the main lobby is adorned with the most spectacular gingerbread houses (and many stunning Christmas decorations)! There are no parking fees for Guests visiting the hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort, to enjoy dining, entertainment, or activities at the resort! So, go enjoy the holiday festivities at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

While you are visiting the gingerbread houses, you might consider visiting the Enchanted Rose. This resort lounge is themed to Beauty and the Beast! This is a great place to visit for a quick bite to eat and a great drink (or two)! This is one of my favorite places to relax after a long day of trekking through the Disney Parks! My wife and I enjoy unwinding at the Enchanted Rose before calling it a night. Even though you are staying off-property, you are still welcome to visit this great Disney Dining location! The Enchanted Rose usually opens in the late afternoon and remains open until 11:00 PM. Please note that times are subject to change.

Kathryn, as you continue to plan your visit, keep an eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website. The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment which does include the main lobby area. If the annual gingerbread house display is impacted by the ongoing refurbishment, there will be information shared on the website, as well as on the Disney Parks Blog.

    Happy Planning!
