Hi Elliot!
Welcome to planDisney! With the recent changes to theme park reservations in January 2024, it can sometimes be confusing to figure out if your visit requires one. Let's take a look at when you need a theme park reservation and when you don't so that you can finalize your plans for a magical visit to
EPCOT in just a few short days!
As of January 9, 2024,
theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets. These are tickets that are commonly purchased as part of a vacation package or can be purchased online separately. If your tickets are date-based, you would have picked an "arrival date" when you purchased and your tickets have a
validity period immediately around that date.
Other types of tickets still require theme park reservations including most
Florida Resident Special Offer Tickets and
Military Salute Tickets. You also need theme park reservations for sports and convention tickets, student group tickets, and any tickets that are not date-based. In addition, Annual Passholders are also required to
make theme park reservations to visit the parks unless the day you are visiting is listed as a
good-to-go day. You can easily view a
calendar of availability for theme park reservations to see if the park you want to visit is available on your selected day! Since availability updates constantly as guests make plans, I recommend making a theme park reservation as soon as possible if you have an admission type that requires a reservation. You can also make and manage theme park reservations in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
Elliot, I hope this helps you plan for your upcoming visit to EPCOT. If you have any problems identifying the type of ticket you have, you can always
call and speak with a Cast Member who can view your account to confirm. I'm sure you'll love exploring all that the park has to offer from rides like
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to new experiences like
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, and even seasonal favorites like the annual
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival! If you have any other questions, please stop by planDisney to see me or any of my panelist pals again - we're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
