Ahoy, Bruce!
Welcome aboard planDisney! When I saw your name, my mind immediately went to “Fish are friends, not food,” from Finding Nemo, but since you’re about to set sail on a Disney cruise, surrounded by the ocean, I can’t think of a better place to enjoy some incredible seafood than right onboard where the menu is just as impressive as the view.
Alright, now that I’ve surfaced from that little detour, let’s dive into your parking question.
At both Port Canaveral and Port Everglades, there is currently no need, and no option, to make a reservation or prepay for parking. It’s all handled
when you arrive at the terminal, which keeps things simple and straightforward on embarkation day.
The current rate at both ports is $20 per day plus tax, and that typically includes your day of arrival and your day of departure. For example, if you’re sailing on a 4-night cruise out of Port Canaveral from Monday to Friday, you’re looking at about $107 total after tax.
Here’s how it works depending on the port:
•
Port Canaveral – You’ll pay when you enter the parking garage, so have a card ready as you drive in.
•
Port Everglades – You’ll pull a ticket when entering the parking area, then pay at a kiosk on the main level when you return from your cruise. That ticket is what you’ll use to exit.
Maybe I was swimming in the wrong direction and you’re actually
sailing out of Galveston. If that’s the case, that port does allow you to reserve and prepay for parking ahead of time directly through the Port of Galveston website. It’s a little different setup compared to the Florida ports, so it’s good to know which system you’ll be using.
I hope this helps you feel confident
heading into embarkation day with one less thing to figure out. Parking is one of those details that’s easy once you know the process, and then you can focus on the real fun ahead.
Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
Dustin
