Bright Suns, Annette! It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There is so much Star Wars excitement happening right now at
Disney's Hollywood Studios that I think there are two potential experiences that you might be asking about. The first one is
Savi's Workshop, which is a shop in
Black Spire Outpost where guests of all ages can forge their very own lightsaber out of scrap metal parts, and the second one is
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, which is an interactive experience where younglings aged 4 to 12 can test their Force sensitivity and wield a lightsaber against some of the villains of the dark side. They both require reservations and I'm happy to walk you through how to get a spot at each of them.
Of those two experiences, the one that requires the earliest advanced reservations is Savi's Workshop. Reservations to make your own lightsaber can be made online up to 180 days in advance. This is a very popular experience so I recommend making reservations as early as possible! There may be some walk-up availability on the day you're there, but it all depends on if there are any openings or cancellations that day so be prepared with back-up plans if you're not able to get a reservation. Keep checking
My Disney Experience though! Guests are changing their plans all the time so you never know what kind of magic might happen at the last minute.
If you're traveling with a young Padawan who wants to take part in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, reservations are also required but you can sign up on the same day that you want to participate. Registration begins as soon as Disney's Hollywood Studios opens for the day so head straight there to sign up for the time you want. The sign-up spot is located at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, which is between the
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and
50's Prime Time Cafe in the Echo Lake area of the Theme Park. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis so it's a good idea to make this one of your first stops in the morning if it's a must-do for your family.
'Til the Spire, Annette, and may the Force be with you!
