we need to rent a scooter for my elderly father and will be going through scooterbug so we can have it at the resort with us. Do we need handicap accessible rooms for him or do the scooter stay outside? Where do we charge it?

    Hi there, Crystal!

It’s good to see you again at planDisney. You are doing a great job of checking those final important details to make your family’s next visit to Walt Disney World Resort a great one!

You do not need to request a handicap-accessible room for your father’s Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). The Disney Resort hotel rooms are spacious enough that you should be able to park your ECV overnight in your room to charge. If you need to rearrange some furniture items to create a convenient charging location, please speak to the Front Desk at your Resort to assist you. I do recommend making a note on your Disney Resort hotel reservation requesting a room near an elevator or on the ground floor. You can do this by calling the number listed under “Disney Resort Hotel Reservations.”

Walt Disney World Resort has created a list of Attraction Access Categories. This is a handy resource to have so your dad can plan for any transferring that may be necessary.

I hope this information was helpful, Crystal. I know your family is going to have an amazing visit to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any future planning questions, come see me again at planDisney!
