I will need to rent a mobility scooter each day during my visit. Can the required deposit be in cash or does it have to be with a card?

    Hiya Monique,

Welcome to planDisney! I hope you are looking forward to your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The Walt Disney Company is celebrating 100 Years, and it is such a fantastic time to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth. I’m looking forward to attending the celebration in person on my next visit. Be sure to check out the return of Happily Ever After to Magic Kingdom Park. It is my favorite nighttime spectacular, and it is back and better than ever!

Great question about Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) Rentals, Monique! I must admit I had to do a little digging to find an answer for you, but it gave me a chance to chat with a Cast Member. According to the Cast Member, you can use cash for the refundable rental deposit. Since you want to rent an ECV each day of your visit, I want to remind you of a few things.

-ECVs cannot be removed from the Theme Parks or Disney Springs. So if you have a park hopper ticket, you must turn in your ECV from your first park and pick up another one in the next one. However, you will only have to pay once daily since the rentals are transferable (make sure to hold on to your receipt).

-ECVs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so try to get to the Theme Parks as early as possible to secure your ECV for the day. If you are worried about having a rental (or if you want the flexibility of getting to the Theme Parks whenever you would like), an excellent option for ECV rentals is Scooterbug (a Disney Featured Provider). They offer ECV rentals for the entire length of your stay, so you won’t have to make a daily reservation. Even better, if you are a Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel, they can deliver it to your resort hotel before you arrive!

I hope this was helpful, Monique. Before I let you go, be sure to check out this guide on the Walt Disney World Website about accessibility access for each of the attractions at the Theme Parks. This guide will help you navigate which attractions you can remain in your ECV and which you must transfer to a wheelchair. This will help you better prepare for your visit next week. I hope that you have a magical trip! Come back and see us if there is anything else we can help you with.

    Happy Planning,
