Do I need to rent a golf cart if I stay at a fort wilderness cabins

Hey Roy! For Christmas this past year, I stayed at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and had the best time!

You certainly don't have to rent a golf cart to stay in one of the cabins. Just a short walk from your cabin will be a bus stop for the resort's internal shuttle. The internal shuttle will take you places like the Settlement where you will be able to chow down like cowboys on some classic comforts like fried chicken and mac and cheese. You'll also be able to get to the Meadow Recreation Area where you can take a dip in the pool, give classic arcade games a try and spend some time in the great outdoors with bike and canoe rentals. Also, you'll be able to head up to the Outpost Depot where you'll then catch other buses to all of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, water parks and to Disney Springs. You'll absolutely have no trouble enjoying all the resort has to offer if you don't choose to rent a golf cart.

On our last stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, we decided to give renting a golf cart a try. We were so glad we did! Not only is it so much fun zipping around the resort on a golf cart, it's a pretty efficient use of time too.  When we were ready to leave our cabin in the morning, we hopped in the golf cart and jetted off to grab breakfast or to head up to the Outpost Depot to catch the next bus to the parks. The golf cart is a nice added convenience but certainly not necessary.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
