Hi, there!
Welcome back to planDisney, Elizabeth. We have just loved helping you plan your
Walt Disney World Resort vacations! And to think - your next visit is just two weeks away now. How very exciting!
Exploring the theme parks requires a lot of walking, so renting a wheelchair is a super great idea if you have any mobility concerns.
Wheelchairs can be rented at all four theme parks and Disney Springs. I haven't rented a wheelchair before, so I checked in with a Cast Member about your question. She informed me that the wheelchairs available to rent cannot be folded. As for a rain cover, I recommend purchasing some plastic rain ponchos to take to the theme parks with you. Rather than spending money on a specially designed stroller cover, we've always used rain ponchos instead. They work like a charm! If the sky is looking ominous when we park our stroller to board an attraction, we just spread a rain poncho over it and if it starts to pour, our stroller stays covered and dry!
One thing to keep in mind about renting a wheelchair from Disney is that it needs to be returned to the rental location when you exit the theme park. If you think you'll need a wheelchair with you as you travel to and from the theme parks and your
Disney Resort hotel, you may want to consider renting a wheelchair from ScooterBug, Disney's Featured Rental Provider. It looks like the wheelchairs offered by ScooterBug
can be folded.
I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth. I'm wishing you a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Ashley
