Shhh, don't tell anyone, but dining at WDW is really my favorite attraction! Let me throw out a few ideas that represent a sampling from the parks and resorts:
Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our all-time favorites. LOVE the food! If you haven't visited the resort, it is worth going just to see it.
Knowing you like Sci-Fi and Whispering Canyon, you may like the antics at
50s Prime Time Cafe. It's a hoot! And each table has its own tv with shows from the 1950s. Make sure to keep your elbows of the tables, too.
A calming meal in what I think is one of the prettiest setting is at the
Coral Reef at Epcot. Beautiful shades of blues with views of the aquarium. Don't worry if you don't like fish; there are other choices on the menu.
After visiting
Via Napoli in Epcot for the first time this last year, we have added it to our list of favorites with its amazing pizza. Perfect for big appetites and a way to break up the World Showcase since it is right in the middle.
If you'd like to squeeze in one more character meal for breakfast,
Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is a charming choice; the characters are in beach wear!
And one more idea for character dining: the first seating at the
Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom on a NON Extra Magic Hour morning. You enter the park before it opens; perfect for amazing pictures.
Happy dining! PS You may want to visit www.disneyfoodblog.com for more info. on the restaurants.
