California residents are lucky because they're able to spread out the purchase price of their
Magic Key into monthly payments. Awesome, right? In the past, the down payment for a pass has been equal to the current price of a 1-Day, Tier 1 Park Hopper Ticket plus the first monthly payment of the remaining amount. So you can do a little Disney math (the happiest kind of math!) to get an estimate for the specific Magic Key that you're interested in. Once it's time to purchase, Mickey will take care of all the math for you and the amount you're paying that day will be clearly shown during checkout. Read carefully and make sure everything looks right!
To help you get ready to purchase your Magic Key I would recommend reading the
Magic Key Buying Guide. It goes over preparing your Disney account, gathering the necessary guest information, accepted payment methods, and more valuable information. It's especially important for California residents to make sure their address is current and they are signed in so that they can select the payment plan option during checkout!
