I need to purchase 4 one day tickets to Disneyland as a gift. Am I able to purchase tickets without making a reservation at the time of purchase?

Hi Alexis! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

What a lovely idea to give the gift of magic! I like the way you think, Alexis. I'm sure your friends or family members would love to receive a Disneyland Resort admission ticket as a present. You're a real-life Fairy Godmother.

As you've noted, in addition to a standard admission ticket, you currently need a theme park reservation to enter the parks. At the moment, theme park reservations are made at the time of admission ticket purchase. While this simplifies things in many cases, for gifting, it might be a slight complication in making your selection.

The good news is that Guests have the ability to modify their theme park reservation, so you can select for them and they'll make the necessary adjustments later subject to availability. However, since you're interested in 1-day tickets, you need to consider what tier you are selecting, as this will limit what days are available to the Guest when selecting their new theme park reservation. While they could switch their theme park reservation to an equal or lower tier, they won't be able to select from a higher tier if they need to change their reservation. 1-day tiers have blockout days associated with them added on a rolling basis, depending on the tier. These are all details that might be important to the Guest and you should consider them before making your purchase. The easiest solution might be to select a Tier 6 Ticket to give them the most flexibility in selecting their theme park reservation.

Additionally, you'll have the option of selecting Park Hopper and Disney's Genie+ Service. These options are especially useful on short visits. My family selects both these options when we're only able to spend one day in the parks. Park Hopper will allow them to start their day in one park and switch later in the day, and Genie+ allows Guests to book Lightning Lane Entrances. With these two options, they'll spend less time in lines, which is a real bonus when you only have one day, and won't have to commit to experiencing just one park.

I hope this helps! Have a magical day.
