Do we need to purchase dining plan prior to making reservations or can we do this closer to day of arrival?

    Hi Aileen!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thanks for stopping by to be our guest and dish on one of my favorite topics - dining!

Whether you're hoping to dive into a famous Mickey waffle or some of the Grey Stuff (I hear it's delicious!), there are so many great dining options around Walt Disney World Resort.  Aileen, I'm happy to share that you can make your advanced dining reservations before adding one of the dining plans to your vacation package.  Dining reservations can be made online or through your My Disney Experience Mobile App beginning 60 days before your arrival.

Aileen, when you're ready to add a dining plan to your vacation package, you can find your package reservation and upgrade online.  You'll find two options currently available - the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.  Both plans will provide each Guest with a Resort-Refillable Mug valid for the length of your stay and one snack or non-alcoholic beverage per night of your reservation.  If you select the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, each Guest will also be able to enjoy two Quick-Service meals per night of their stay, while the Disney Dining Plan provides one Quick-Service and one Table-Service meal per Guest per night.

Regardless of which dining plan you choose, you can easily track your remaining meals and snacks in your My Disney Experience Mobile App.  To view information on your dining plan from your app, simply click on "My Resort Stay" and then "Check Dining Plan."  You can also use your dining plan with Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering in your app.  Mobile ordering is one of my favorite ways to save time in the parks.  Less time waiting in line for our food means more time to enjoy our favorite attractions!

Aileen, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort in just a few short weeks!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!

    Bon Appétit!
