Do I need to provide proof at entry if my child is under 3yrs of age?

Hi there, Marissa, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I always love helping my fellow Californians as they plan their next visit to the Disneyland Resort! I’m happy to report that you don’t need to provide proof of your child’s age at the Main Entrance to either of our theme parks. Luckily, Mickey is a very trusting mouse! In fact, Mickey and his fellow Cast Members tend to work on the honor system when it comes to the ages of our younger Guests. Tickets are required for all Guests ages 3 and over, and are priced differently for ages 3-9 and 10+.

As a mom of three children ages 7 and under, I’ve dealt with this issue recently, times three! My first son was especially tall at the age of 2, so I was often asked by Cast Members at the Main Entrance turnstiles how old he was. I always replied with his birthdate, and never had a problem requiring any additional proof beyond that. I have heard of circumstances where parents of especially-tall toddlers have brought copies of their children’s birth certificates just in case they were questioned further. But this hasn’t been the case for me, or anyone else I’ve personally known.

Once inside the parks, I recommend getting acquainted with the location of the Baby Care Centers. You can find one on Pacific Wharf, at Disney California Adventure Park, and one at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park. These centers are super helpful when it’s time to feed or change your little Mouseketeer, or if you need to purchase any supplies, such as wipes, diapers, or sunscreen. Also, if you happen to be potty-training your little one, you have to check out the tiny toilets inside each center! They actually inspired one of my babies to want to try using the potty!

Also, I’d suggest downloading and utilizing the Disneyland app! It’s a great tool for checking wait times, finding your favorite Characters, and even ordering food and drinks ahead of time – which has saved many toddler tantrums in my family!

Wishing you a magical, pixie-dusted getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth!
