Hiya, pal! Welcome to planDisney. Being a fan of all things Disney, I get asked, "Which is better:
Walt Disney World Resort or
Disney Cruise Line?" The best is when you can pick both. They are such different vacations, it is a dream when you can combine them into one.
You can
call Disney Cruise Line to reserve a land-and-sea vacation, and they are super helpful in getting your cruise, Walt Disney World resort, and port transportation arranged for you.
Before I call, I like to do a little window shopping to see what itineraries are available when I want to go. On the Disney Cruise Line webpage, you can begin exploring cruises by simply entering the month(s) you want to go and "Port Canaveral, Florida" in the box for "Departing From." Select "View Dates" and you will see a list of cruises available. For Port Canaveral, generally, these will be 7-night itineraries on
Disney Fantasy and 3- and 4-night itineraries on
Disney Wish. When you pick "Show Dates" next to a cruise itinerary, such as "3-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral," the website will show you sample pricing for the different staterooms (Inside, Oceanview, Verandah, and Concierge). These will give you a general idea of pricing. You can follow the prompts to see specific pricing, based on the itinerary, the number and ages of people in your traveling party, and the stateroom you would like. You can take a look and have an idea when you call, or you can call Disney Cruise Line and start with "Can you help me with a land-and-sea vacation?"
Once you have your cruise and resort stay Bibbidi Bobbidi Booked, Disney makes it easy for you. If you are going to Walt Disney World Resort first and have scheduled port transportation through Disney, information on your transportation to the port will be waiting for you at check-in to the resort. If you are cruising first, they will e-mail you directions for where to get the transportation at the airport. My advice: try to come the day before your cruise (at least). You will sleep better knowing you are on the ground and only need to find the bus the morning of your cruise.
Once you have your land-and-sea vacation scheduled, please come back to
planDisney. We can offer advice for your cruise,
when to book fun at
ports of call and
onboard activities, like adult-exclusive dining, spa time and beverage tastings. And we love to talk about making the most of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, too.
Adventure is out there!
