As Mickey says, "Hiya, Pal!" I am so glad you sailed by planDisney with this question. Before our favorite mouse can say, "Welcome Aboard!" your travel documents must be
ship-shape.Before every cruise, I check the
travel documentation requirements to make sure there are no surprises. For most closed-loop itineraries departing from the United States, you need an original state-issued birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID, but a passport is not required.
With so much to do on board, I could easily stay on the ship, too. If this is your plan, just make sure you follow the guidelines for proof of citizenship to board at the originating port.
You will load your documents into the system during the
pre-arrival check-in process. You can do this starting 30 days before your departure date. This is when you get that glorious Port Arrival Time. Once I upload my documents, I set them aside where I know I can find them easily when it is time to pack. On Embarkation Day, make sure you have them with your carry-on items. You will need to show these to the Cast Members so they can check you in at the port. You should not need them again until your last morning when Mickey says, "SEA 'ya real soon!" and the agents at the port ask to see them.
If you have any other questions as you plan a magical vacation aboard
Disney Cruise Line, come back by
planDisney. We love helping our pals!
Bon Voyage!
