Do I need a passport for a Bahamas disney cruise?

Hello there, Sonia! Welcome to the planDisney panel and thank you for cruising our way with your question.

You have some exciting plans for the end of this year! With the dates that you've provided, it looks like you will be ringing in the holidays on a beautifully decorated ship, enjoying seasonal festivities with your favorite Disney Pals. Very Merrytime voyages are truly special and I'm excited just thinking about all of the magic that awaits you onboard.

And in order to step on board, it's necessary to bring the proper documentation, so I'm very happy to see that you are planning ahead. Disney Cruise Line does recommend that you travel with passports, however, for your round-trip cruise to The Bahamas that begins and ends in the same home port, you will be allowed to board if you are a U.S. citizen and provide an original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND a government-issued photo ID. A government-issued photo ID is required for all guests ages 15 and above. For more information regarding travel documentation, please carefully read the information on this page of the Disney Cruise Line website

As you prepare to set sail, be sure to keep an eye out on the dates that you can begin to make reservations for onboard activities and Port Adventures. That will be 75 days prior to your sail date if you are a first-time guest of the Disney Cruise Line. If you think you'll be interested in taking lots of professional photos onboard, consider purchasing a photo package prior to setting sail. You can take advantage of a special offer if you book a photo package at least three days prior to your vacation. With your cruise in November, I'm thinking you can get some picture-perfect photos in time for a holiday card!

On a recent episode of the planDisney Podcast, I had the chance to talk about photo opportunities and more on a Very Merrytime cruise. You may enjoy watching or listening to Episode Three of the podcast to hear the details. I hope that you cruise our way again if you have any additional questions. We'd love to help you have the best Disney Cruise ever!

    Happy planning,

    Adrianna
