Do you need a park ticket in addition to a special event ticket for the Christmas or Halloween parties at Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Brigid!

During the holidays Walt Disney World offers its guests some great special event parties in the Magic Kingdom. MIckey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are offered for some special magic during your stay.

Both parties generally begin around 7pm and last until midnight. You are also allowed entrance into the park a couple of hours early when only using the special party ticket. That is the ONLY ticket you will need for the evening of fun. You do not need to purchase the regular day ticket unless you plan to be in the Magic Kingdom at any other time that same day before 4pm. Most guests use the day to enjoy pool time, Disney Springs, or even another park and then head to the Magic Kingdom for the party.

The parties are a great way to enjoy some of the attractions that generally have longer lines during the day since Disney does limit the number of guests into the special event nights. You can also enjoy special entertainment, great character meet and greets, and unique photo opportunities. Of course my favorite part of the parties are their parades. The Halloween parade is one of my favorite Disney parades of all time and the Christmas one is right behind that. To me buying just the party ticket for about 7 hours of fun in the park is a great deal.
