Welcome to planDisney, Megan! We're glad you brought your question to us.
I think using
Disney Genie+ service is a great strategy when park hopping. You will need a
Disney Park Pass reservation in order to reserve a
Lightning Lane attraction with Disney Genie+ service, but if you have a ticket with the
Park Hopper Option, you are welcome to reserve an attraction in a different theme park than the park for which you hold a reservation. Disney Genie+ will automatically assign a return time that is after 2:00 pm when park hopping hours begin.
I did this on my last visit and it worked out really well. I spent the first part of my day strolling around
EPCOT enjoying all the delicious bites and sips at the
outdoor festival kitchens while reserving Lightning Lane attractions at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Guests may make another Lightning Lane reservation after redeeming the first, or every two hours (beginning at the scheduled park opening time), whichever comes first. One thing to note is that if you book your first Lightning Lane reservation prior to park opening time for the park you plan to hop to, you'll be able to book your next reservation 2 hours after that park opens, not 2 hours after the park for which you hold a Disney Park Pass reservation opens. I was able to have several Lightning Lane reservations lined up by the time I "hopped" to Disney's Hollywood Studios. It made for a really pleasant evening!
I hope that helps! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by planDisney again anytime. Have a wonderful visit!
