do i need to have the park hopper pass to leave the park and return back to it later that day?

Hi, Megan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for bringing us your question.

The Walt Disney World Resort offers many different types of park tickets with great options you can add to customize them to fit your needs! A base, one-day park ticket will allow you to visit one park on one day. If you are like me and a mid-day dip in one of the fabulous Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools sounds like a lovely break from a busy park day, you can absolutely leave, take a break and swim at your hotel, then return to that same park. Just keep in mind, without the park hopper option, you can only visit one specific theme park per day.

With the Park Hopper, if you decided that you wanted to check out Epcot after a fun morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you could hop on over and enjoy some delicious grub at any of the wonderful locations at the World Showcase. To top the night off, how about a viewing of IllumiNations, Reflections of Earth Firework show? That sounds like a pretty magical day to me!

One last tip: Make sure you create an account at My Disney Experience and download the app to your smart device. You can start scheduling Dining Reservations 180 days in advance or start making some FasPass+ reservations starting 60 days before arrival if you’re staying on property, or 30 days if you’re staying offsite.

Please come back and see us if you have any more questions! Hope you have a magical trip!
