Do I need to pack beach towels and sunscreen when visiting Disney's private islands, like Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point?

    Ahoy there, Silvia!

Thank you so much for sailing by planDisney with your questions about Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! Before you know it, you’ll be trading in those cold Connecticut nights and stepping off the ship, feeling that warm island breeze, and wiggling your toes in the sand. Now that’s my kind of countdown! You’re absolutely in for a sun-soaked, magical adventure.

Let’s dive right into your question! When you arrive at both islands, you’ll be greeted by smiling Cast Members and, great news! There are plenty of beach towels waiting for you to use. No need to pack any from the ship or from home! I do recommend bringing a small beach bag stocked with your favorite sunscreen, a hat, and maybe even a pair of sneakers, just in case you’re feeling inspired to take on the Castaway Cay 5K (one of my favorite things to do before a lazy beach day).

If you're renting a cabana, sunscreen is included, but if not, I always suggest bringing your favorite brand. And if you forget, no worries at all! You’ll be able to purchase sunscreen at select merchandise locations on both islands. Disney truly has your back (and your shoulders!) covered.

When our family visits the islands, we love soaking up the sunshine in the beach chairs, snorkeling in those crystal-clear waters, and, after a delicious island lunch, walking it off by exploring shops filled with the cutest island-inspired treasures to bring home. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, my favorite kind of day at sea!

Silvia, I hope this helps you feel even more prepared and excited for your island day ahead. If any other questions pop up, don’t hesitate to sail back our way, we’re always happy to help!

    See you real soon,

    Christina
