Hello there, Debra! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Debra, your question is a complicated one but I might be able to point you in the right direction for some help. A
MagicBand is unique and is only meant for one person. If the MagicBand in question is already assigned to someone else, it can't be reassigned to your Granddaughter. If your Granddaughter's MagicBand was linked to someone else by mistake you can give the
MyDisneyExperience and MagicBand support line a call at (407) 939-4357. They are going to be the best bet at troubleshooting your issue, Debra. Phone lines typically open up around 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time and it's best to call early. The call centers are experiencing a high number of calls at this time which is leading to longer wait times. If you call early I think you have a better shot at bypassing the long wait times.
If you can't get the issue resolved, you can always get her a new MagicBand when you arrive at Walt Disney World. MagicBands are sold at almost all of the retail locations and they have some really cute options. If you want to pre-order one, you can try looking at
shopDisney. However, I think their selection is always pretty limited compared to what you can find once you are there. Once you've purchased a MagicBand for her, the linking process is very easy, You'll just open up your
MyDisneyExperience app on your smartphone device. Then you'll head to the "My Profile" section of the app and select, "MagicBands & Cards". From there, you should see an option to "Link a MagicBand or Card" and then you'll be able to scan the code on the back and it should automatically link for you. It's a pretty easy process.
I'm sorry I don't have a quick-fix solution for your problem, Debra. If you have any other questions, feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help!
Have a great day!
