Hi Emmanuel,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! Your vacation will be here before you know it!
If you’ll be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, instead of having a hotel key card, your access to your room can be through your
MagicBand+ or through the
My Disney Experience mobile app, how cool is that! I really love these features because I don’t need to keep up with anything other than my phone or MagicBand+. After you check in and have a room number, in your reservations section of the app, you’ll be able to select a button to enter your room. Once selected, a blue screen will appear, you’ll want to hold your phone over the door reader, and tap the center of the Mickey on your phone, then you’ll be in!
Though your hotel room key, tickets, and Theme Park Reservations are all linked through your My Disney Experience mobile app, you’ll have to use them differently. For example, you can physically see your tickets within My Disney Experience, but if you want to use your phone to enter the Parks (instead of using a physical card), you’ll want to utilize
Disney’s MagicMobile Service or your MagicBand+. If your tickets are already in
My Disney Experience, they’ll automatically be linked to MagicBand+ if you purchased the Bands through My Disney Experience. If you haven’t or will getting your Bands at Walt Disney World, you’ll just link the Bands to the app!
If you were to use a physical hotel key card, that wouldn’t be linked to your Theme Park tickets. That’s why I utilize the My Disney Experience mobile app as much as possible, because pretty much everything you need is there if everything is linked properly! Remember, once you check in you can always connect with a Cast Member at your Resort for further guidance.
I hope you find this “Bit By Bryanna” useful as you prepare for your vacation in just a few months. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
