Hi all! Need a 'lil extra info on water parks. Visiting TL during our stay 10/18-10/25. Do we need to pack sand toys? And where does everyone put valuables while in the lazy river? Also, are there lounge chairs? U R our WDW vacation lifesaver, thanks!

    Jennifer:

I know you are counting down your days to WDW and Typhoon Lagoon!

If you've got little ones, you'll probably want to bring your own sand toys when you visit--there's lots of sand!  But I wouldn't go overboard and overload yourself, as there are plenty of activities at the water parks for the whole family, even little ones, to enjoy.

And speaking of activities, you'll find that you won't spend a lot of time at your chairs, at least our family doesn't, which means I wouldn't recommend bringing many valuables.  Although we've never had a problem simply tucking our camera under our towels and lunch coolers, if you have other things that you're concerned about, you can simply rent a locker or purchase one of the waterproof lanyards you can wear around your neck to keep your tickets, room key, and cash.

Lounge chairs? YES!  But be aware that you're lucky you're visiting in October.  In the summer, if you're not there in the first hour, they're hard to come by....Don't panic if you don't find a chair in your first 50 feet.  There are plenty near the Shark Reef and Crush 'n' Gusher because most folks head to the ones near the wave pool.

FYI: If you want to splurge, there's a new cabana service at Typhoon Lagoon featuring reserved chairs, refillable mugs, a private locker, attendant, cold water and towels.  The "Beachcomber Shacks" serves up to six guests for $250 plus tax.  You can check availability at the High 'N Dry merchandise location.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation.

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
