I need to lead a 4 hour zoom meeting session during the "day at sea" during our disney cruise (assuming it does not get cancelled because of covid. How much would 4 hours of zoom cost?

    Ahoy there, Susannah!

We "ARRRRR" so happy to welcome you aboard! Pirate talk aside, it’s so fun to think of the Disney fleet setting sail again. With so many amazing itineraries, I say, "Bring me that horizon!" Captain Jack’s trusty compass has pointed you in the right direction by bringing you to our merry band of pirates here at planDisney!

Sure, in an ideal world, we’d all love to unplug while on vacation. Especially when so much is included on a Disney cruise. But that isn’t always feasible to disconnect entirely. And if you can manage to stay connected to ashore life while on a high seas adventure versus staying at home, I choose the seafaring life every day over being stuck as a landlubber. “Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!”

Connect @Sea is Disney Cruise Line’s wireless internet access portal, boasting a variety of onboard internet packages. These packages offer different levels of data usage based on your individual needs. The last known rates for Connect @Sea are as follows:

-The small package for occasional use has 100 MB for $19.00.
-A medium sized package with 300 MB is available for $39.00, which works well for frequent use during your sailing.
-The larger package of 1000 MB, best suited for longer internet sessions, can be purchased for $89.00.

While you can also Pay as You Go for $0.25 per MB instead of a package, my guess is that will not work well in your situation given that you will need higher connectivity for a video call lasting 4 hours.

You will find current rates on your specific sailing and a how to guide on getting all set up on Connect@Sea in your stateroom. Keep in mind that all pricing is subject to change without notice. So when you set foot onboard, make sure to check the rates for your specific sailing. I don’t want to be in trouble with you if pricing has changed and have to walk the plank!

Based on the fact that you need to have internet access to do a Zoom call, I think that the larger package will be your best bet (just to be on the safe side). But the people that will know best are the Connect@Sea representatives (Deck 4, Midship). I would ask what they recommend given your specific situation, and they will gladly steer you in the right direction.

Raise the Jolly Roger and send planDisney more of your excellent questions as you prepare for your swashbuckling adventure at sea.

    Wind in your sails!
