Hello, David,
Yay! How exciting to be planning a Disneyland Resort vacation. With four children, my wife and I have a little experience with traveling to The Happiest Place on Earth as a party of six. While it can sometimes be a little exhausting to shepherd such a large party, it is always worth it to see the smiling faces on our children as we take in the magic of "
Walt Disney's Original Magic Kingdom."
Although finding adequate lodging for parties larger than five can be a little challenging, they are a number of good options. The rates for hotel rooms and suites at the
Disneyland Resort Hotels can vary significantly depending on the season and general demand. So I’m sorry that we will not be able to narrow in on a definitive figure. I’ve found that a rule-of-thumb for pricing suites is to double the price of a standard room to estimate the rate for a one-bedroom suite, about two and a half for a two-bedroom suite, and approximately three times for a three-bedroom suite. Again, rates may vary. And note that the number of suites is limited. So it is best to book as early as possible.
Tony’s Tip: Rates for room-only reservations and
vacation packages for next year have not yet been released. Although, hopefully, they will be available within the coming weeks. You can start to get a feel for approximate rates for the coming year by looking up available rates for the remaining portion of this year on the
Disneyland Resort website. Because there are only a limited number of suites, you may find that some of those room types often don’t list rates on the site. For such cases, I suggest calling (714) 956-6425 for more information. That’s (714) 956-MICKEY.
I love staying at the Disneyland Resort Hotels. I’ve been fortunate enough to have stayed at all of them. My personal favorite is the
Disneyland Hotel. To be frank, however, the price of on-property suites is usually a little out of our budget. So we often find nice suites among many of the
Good Neighbor Hotels. An added perk of some of these hotels is an in-suite kitchen or kitchenette. If looking into Good Neighbor Hotels interests you, take a look at
a few of my family’s recent favorites. Note that there are not many that have three-bedroom suites. So one or two of the children in our family usually sleep on the sofa beds in the parlor area of the suite.
Thanks for such a great question, David. I hope you will stop by planDisney again to ask any more questions you may have as you plan your upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation.
