Hello and welcome to planDisney, Janet. I see your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth is right around the corner. I bet you are getting so excited. The countdown is on!
Janet, when making a dining reservation it is best to include every single body that will be entering the restaurant. Due to Florida state law, inside spaces can only hold a certain number of people, no matter the age, and adding your little one on to your advanced dining reservation will greatly help the restaurant prepare for your arrival.
Depending on how old your toddler is when you are at Walt Disney World, they may be able to dine at certain restaurants for free, Janet! I used to love this when my daughter was a baby, it really does save so much money. Children under the age of 3 are special Guests of my pal, Mickey Mouse, and can dine at Walt Disney World restaurants for free. At all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants like
Chef Mickey's, children under the age of 3 are welcome to have as many of their own plates as they'd like for no extra charge. At restaurants where you order a single entree off of a menu like
Steakhouse 71, Guests under the age of 3 can plate share from anyone at the table for no extra charge. If you wish to order your under the age of 3 child his or her own plate at these types of restaurants, only then would you need to pay.
If you are looking for a great dining spot on your upcoming vacation, might I suggest
The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs? The restaurant itself is so beautiful and is right on the lake at Disney Springs providing some stunning views, especially around sunset. The menu is so big and really does have something for everyone. Right now, my go-to order is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. So delicious! It's also a very child-friendly restaurant and the kids' meals are served up in a paper
amphicar which is really cute and doubles as a fun toy for them to play around with while you enjoy your meal.
I hope this helps, Janet. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help. Have fun and enjoy!
