Do I need to include my child in hotel reservations if 2 and under?

Hey howdy hey Laynee and welcome to planDisney! As a father of 3, my wife and I have taken our girls to Walt Disney World Resort many times. We love experiencing the parks, the resort hotels and the resort as a whole through their eyes which brings such a different appreciation of the most Magical place on Earth to our trips. We have been fortunate enough to take two of our daughters to Walt Disney World Resort before they turned three, and the experience we had was absolutely phenomenal. There are so many great amenities at the resorts and in the parks that help you navigate them all with infants.

When setting up our My Disney Experience Account, our family of five had a great time selecting our favorite characters for our accounts. Even our two-year-old was insistent that she had her own account so she could pick out her character! I will let you know that setting up children under the age of three is entirely up to you though. At Walt Disney World Resort, guests under the age of three are not included in the total number of occupants in a room, are not required to have tickets to visit any of the theme parks, nor are required to order meals at any of the restaurants and can eat off of your plate or anyone else in the party. It makes it a little easier, say if you need accommodations such as getting a crib or playpen in your room to have them on the account letting cast members know you do have a guest in the room under the age of 3. These are entirely complimentary by the way and are on a first come first serve basis that you can request prior to or at the time of your arrival.

One big tip while visiting the parks, make sure to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers. There is one located in all four theme parks and is a great place to visit if you need a quieter place to feed your little one, need anything child specific in the parks you may have forgotten, such as juice, diapers or wipes as well as just a quieter place to spend a few minutes for them to recharge a bit during their busy days in the parks.

One of the many reasons we love Walt Disney World Resort is that we can be together sharing every experience. From the decor and pools at the resort hotels, the sights, sounds and attractions in the parks to enjoying our favorite snacks and meals, Walt Disney World Resort is for everyone to share together. I hope you and your party have a Magical time on your next trip and if you have any other questions, we love talking about all things Walt Disney World Resort, so keep the questions coming!

    Happy Planning,
