I need some ideas for good character dining places that also have good food for adults. Our grandchildren ages are from 6 to 8 years old and all boys.

    Hi Annetta,

Since you'll be traveling with your grandsons, I'll share three of my favorite character dining experiences that would be the most fun for boys (as well as offering great food options for you too!).

#1 - The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom.

Whether you choose breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this buffet-style restaurant offers a wide variety of items that will surely do the trick. Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore are the characters that typically hang out in this restaurant.

    #2 - Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort

Breakfast and dinner are served at this restaurant daily. While the buffet is truly amazing, the really neat thing (for me at least) is watching the Monorail zoom overhead while you eat. I had breakfast there a few months ago with my family and we got to hang out with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Goofy.

#3 - The Garden Grill in Epcot

There are so many things I enjoy about this dinner experience. First off, they offer a very hearty family-style meal. Next, the restaurant rotates (very slowly) above one of the scenes from the attraction "Living with the Land." Finally, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale hang out with the guests (and Mickey usually wears his overalls and flannel shirt as if he just came off his farm).

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

There's a character dining restaurant that not many people know about - Chefs de France in Epcot's France pavilion. Throughout the day, except on Sundays, Remy from the Disney-Pixar film Ratatouille makes appearances in the dining room. (P.S. - The food there is awesome!)

I hope that helps! If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
