Need ideas for dinner for New Year's eve? Don't like clubs. Last at Disney for New Years during millennium celebration, once the parks reached capacity they closed the park so you could not get in. How often do parks close once capacity is reached?

I have only seen the parks close twice in all the years we have been going to Walt Disney World.  The first time was July 4th and the second time was New Years Eve.  Closing the parks is not a common occurrence.  We actually ended up one year sitting on the beach at the Grand Floridian watching the fireworks.  Magic Kingdom was closed to any more visitors, so we just laid out a few towels and had a picnic by the water.  The fireworks were spectacular and the walk back to our resort was relaxing.  No crowds!!

Ideas for New Years:  Three of the parks have a fabulous fireworks show at the end of the night.  The parks are family friendly and there isn't alcohol in the streets.  There are fireworks cruises on pontoon boats for groups if you have enough people in your party.  There are some fabulous restaurants like Bistro de Paris.  The Boardwalk in has an area where you can sit and play all sorts of board games.  Some of the Resorts have activities but you would need to ask upon arrival.

Have a fabulous trip!! Heather M.
