Hey there Kimberly,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question!
While a valid government-issued ID is always a helpful thing to keep handy, there are only a few scenarios where it's required while visit the Disneyland Resort.
First, and likely the most obvious, would be if you are at least 21 years or older and are planning on purchasing an alcoholic beverage. Second would be if you are using certain promotional theme park tickets that require a form of valid, government-issued ID to use like a
Military Promotional Ticket or the
Southern California Resident Ticket.
However, an ID is not required for use with a
standard theme park ticket. Upon first use of one of these tickets, the Cast Member at the entry gate will take a picture of the Guest using the ticket, which will then be used to verify that Guest for entry for the remaining duration of the ticket.
If you're trying to decide when to visit over the next few months, make sure to check out this helpful
Disney Parks Blog entry that covers all the 2026 events, seasons, and celebrations that will be happening around the Happiest Place on Earth this year! I've found it can be helpful to decide on a date to visit based on all the extra fun offerings happening around the resort that I want to experience.
Thanks again for your question, Kimberly! I hope you have a wonderful next visit to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
