Hi Sabrina,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this dining plan question to us!
Clearly, you have done some research because this is an excellent question. My family finds the
Disney Dining Plans to be a good value. We have done the Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan includes two meals per night of your stay for each guest 3-years old and over in your party. One of those meals is quick-service and one is table-service. This plan also includes two snacks per each night of your stay. For example, if you stay for six nights/seven days, each guest on the dining plan would receive 12 meal entitlements (6 quick-service and 6 table-service), 12 snacks and one resort refillable mug.
What we adore about the dining plan is that we can use our meal and snack entitlements in whatever order we choose. Since we consider our first and last days travel days, we typically plan only one meal for those days. Therefore, one possible scenario could be:
- Day 1: one meal, zero snacks
- Day 2: two meals, two snacks
- Day 3: two meals, two snacks
- Day 4: three meals, three snacks
- Day 5: two meals, one snack
- Day 6: one meal, one snack
- Day 7: one meal, three snacks
As the primary planner in our family, I love the dining plans because they help me better estimate our vacation budget. Food can be unpredictably expensive at the Walt Disney World Resort. Purchasing a dining plan gives me a good sense of how much we will spend on dining.
Sabrina, Disney's Port Orleans is a lovely resort that holds special memories. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. I trust that your memories from this resort will be forever magical!
