Hiya, Jennie!
I'm so glad you've found your way to planDisney. Thanks so much for bringing us a question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. The holiday season is one of my favorite times to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth –– with incredible decorations, special events, and
so many seasonal treats, it feels like there's an extra sprinkle of pixie dust everywhere you turn. But before you can enjoy all the festivities, you'll need to have your park tickets squared away, right? Let me walk you through the process of purchasing Walt Disney World theme park admission to help you get ready for your upcoming visit.
Personally, I think the easiest way to purchase Walt Disney World theme park tickets is by using the
My Disney Experience mobile app –– with just a few taps on the screen, you'll be all set to go for your coming visit. First, be sure that you've downloaded the newest version of the app on your phone and that you're signed in to your Disney account. After that, here's what you'll need to do:
1. Tap the three lines in the bottom-right corner and select "Tickets and Passes" from the main menu screen.
2. Tap "Select Tickets".
3. On the next screen, choose the type of ticket you'd like to purchase –– you can select theme park tickets, special event tickets like
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, and more.
4. If you're purchasing theme park tickets, select the admission type that works best for your visit.
5. Next, tap the number of days you plan to visit the parks and use the calendar to select the date you'll be entering the parks for the first time.
6. Choose the number of tickets you'll be purchasing and hit the blue "Continue" button.
7. Continue following the onscreen prompts to finalize your ticket purchase.
And that's it! Your tickets will be waiting to use once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.
Once you've purchased your tickets, be sure to make your theme park reservations for your upcoming stay using the
Disney Park Pass reservation system –– just like purchasing your tickets, this can be done right from the app by tapping the "+" sign and selecting "Make or Modify Park Reservations". Remember, you'll need a Disney Park Pass reservation, along with valid admission, for the first park your plan to visit during each day of your vacation (if you're planning to Park Hop at 2 PM, you won't need to make an additional reservation for your second park). In recent months, it hasn't been usual to see theme park reservations fill up as your dates get closer, so I recommend making these reservations as early as possible for the best availability. Once that's done, you'll be ready to hit the ground running for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit!
I hope this helped to answer your question and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney, Jennie. If you think of more planning questions as your Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to stop by again –– we're always here to lend a helping hand!
Happy Planning,
Amy
