Hello there!
Welcome to planDisney! Like you, we are Guests who love planning
Walt Disney World Resort vacations. I love how easy the Walt Disney World Resort makes planning vacations through its website. Once you book a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, the website will take you to purchase theme park tickets and add other package components like
Memory Maker or the Travel Protection Plan.
To start planning your vacation, I like to think about what
Resort area I want to stay in first. For example, I like to stay at Resorts in the
EPCOT Resort area because I like walking to the EPCOT International Gateway entrance and taking a Friendship boat to
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I recommend clicking through Resorts to look at the different areas, transportation options, and price points.
Disney does not offer payment plans; however, there are several payment options that make saving for your trip easier. Once you book a Walt Disney World vacation package, which includes a Resort Hotel stay and theme park tickets, you’ll need to put down a deposit, and then you can make payments toward your balance in your My Disney Experience account. You can then pay the balance of your vacation over time, and the remaining balance on your package is due 30 days before your arrival date.
To find the remaining balance in the My Disney Experience account, you’ll go to
“My Plans” and scroll down to “My Plans, Reservations and Tickets.” You should see your balance below your reservation.
Once I book my vacation package, I like to think about which theme parks I want to visit on specific dates and determine if I want to make any advanced dining reservations 60 days before my arrival. There are so many awesome themed dining locations that eating has become one of my favorite activities at the Resort.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
