Hey, Matt. Welcome to planDisney.
I'm so glad that you stopped by with your question. Planning a trip to Walt Disney World can leave your head spinning, right? From Theme Park Reservations to Disney Genie+, it can be very confusing. We get it! This is why planDisney exists. We're here to help fellow Guests with their questions and to share our collective experience and knowledge. So you've come to the right place. Let me offer some thoughts on planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth:
There are four Theme Parks and two Water Parks (although Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment). I would suggest visiting all of the Theme Parks if possible. Each one is uniquely magical. Since you're planning on coming in the summer, you might also enjoy a day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Once you purchase your tickets you'll need to make
reservations at the Theme Parks you'd like to visit. At this time, you don't need to make a reservation for the Water Parks.
I'd highly recommend that you stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. There are Value, Moderate, and Deluxe hotels to choose from, which accommodate people on a variety of budgets. With their unique storytelling, delightful theming, and legendary customer service, Disney Resorts truly immerse you in the magic. There are also loads of
magical benefits available to Guests staying on property.
Now we need to think about food. I mean, you've got to eat good food on vacation! And Walt Disney World has amazing dining options. One of the many benefits of staying on property is the ability to make
dining reservations up to 60 days in advance of your trip plus the length of your stay (up to 10 days). Since restaurants fill up quickly, this means that you are far more likely to reserve a table. My planDisney friends have
tons of recommendations when it comes to places to eat.
Once you've booked your trip, I'd encourage you to download the My Disney Experience Mobile app so that you can use the new (and free)
Disney Genie service. This will help you plan your day in a way that is catered to you and your family. You can even purchase
Disney Genie+ and/or Individual Lightning Lane entrances to get on the rides faster.
This brings us to the big question: How do you book your trip? To book a vacation package, one option is to
speak directly to a Cast Member. They can help you plan a vacation that accords with your budget. They'll be able to book accommodation and tickets for you, as well as answer any questions you might have. You also price up a vacation on the
Walt Disney World website too. Another option is to find an authorized Disney vacation planner. There are a number of no-fee agents who can help you plan your vacation (often even saving you lots of money in the process).
Finally, as you plan and anticipate your trip, if you have any questions, stop by planDisney. You can even follow us on

ChEARS!
