Welcome to planDisney, Marissa! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. Just consider us a group of personal Fairy Godmothers, ready to help you get to the ball… or, in this case, the Walt Disney World Resort!
Marissa, since you’re at the very beginning stages of trip planning, I’m going to outline my best recommendations and I hope you’ll come on back with more specific questions as your planning continues.
Before you dive into planning, I’ll encourage you to create a
My Disney Experience Account if you haven’t already. This platform and the
My Disney Experience Mobile App will be your all-encompassing Disney planning tool. You can view tickets, dining reservations, and more through the app. Now, let’s talk about booking your vacation!
First, if it fits in your budget and schedule, I always encourage people to stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. With complimentary parking
and transportation to all four theme parks, you’ll be surrounded in the Magic and will be able to enjoy all there is to offer. I’ll link a video about resort selection below, but take a look at the various options
HERE. You’ll see categories broken down into value, moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villa resorts. If you choose to stay on property, you can purchase a package that will include your hotel accommodations and theme park tickets. You can easily purchase once you have logged into your My Disney Experience account.
Currently,
in addition to your park tickets, all guests are required to have a (complimentary)
theme park reservation to enter the park. Prior to purchasing a vacation package, make sure there is availability by clicking
HERE.
Marissa, if you are a first-time visitor, I recommend the
1-park per day ticket without the hopper option. There is so much to see and do at each theme park and by focusing on one park at a time, you can fully explore each area! If you are visiting for a week, I love to build in a “rest day” where we relax, enjoy time by the pool and maybe stroll through
Disney Springs. Once you have confirmed your desired dates are available by checking the park reservation calendar and purchased your vacation package (or separate theme park tickets), come on back to planDisney with any questions you might have about
dining around the Walt Disney World Resort (advanced reservations are highly recommended),
Disney Genie+ (an extra paid service that helps you lessen your wait times), favorite attractions and more!
Marissa, I hope this serves as a jumping-off point for all your vacation planning. Please come on back to planDisney as you get closer to your Magical trip. We are here to help!
I'll be wishing on a star that this is just the beginning of a pixie-dusted visit,
Lauren
