Scott,
When it comes to park planning, a lot of where to go, and when, really depends upon your mix of travelers and how many days you will be visiting the parks. Families with smaller children have more to do at the Magic Kingdom Park, whereas adult-only groups often find time at EPCOT to be key to a great vacation. Without knowing more about your group, however, here are my general recommendations.
- I recommend 2 days at the Magic Kingdom Park for every one day each at the other three parks. So if you have 5 days, it would be two at the Magic Kingdom Park, and one each at the other three parks
- If I don't have enough days for that, I will use the Park Hopper option to cover two parks in one day, like visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios until the mid-afternoon, followed by an evening at EPCOT
- I always try to make the Magic Kingdom Park the first stop of my trips
- I try to have EPCOT days land on weekdays, not weekend days or Fridays
- When combining parks in one day, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is far more active in the morning, so I start there before using the Park Hopper Option to move to another park in the afternoon
As for getting Disney Genie+, you can add it to your tickets via your My Disney Experience account online, or the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone. Because you can select it for specific days, or specific members of your party, I prefer to do it on my computer. Simply follow the prompts to your tickets and you will find the option to add it to existing tickets. If you have not yet purchased tickets, you will see the option to get tickets with Disney Genie+ right there, just as you would for other options like the Park Hopper.
If you would like more help with planning your park days out, write me back with an idea of how many park days you have, the ages and interests in your group, and I can give you a more planned out idea of how to make your trip as magical as possible.
Have a Magical Vacation!
