Board the boat for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort one day and head over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch where the WDW horses live. Pony rides, a small petting zoo, and wagon rides might be fun for your son. Call 407.939.7529 for more information. At Fort Wilderness you can also rent fishing poles for some catch and release fishing. In the evening you can enjoy Chip 'n Dale's Sing-a-long Campfire. Roast marshmallows for s'mores, meet Chip 'n Dale, sing, and then watch a classic Disney movie outside under the stars. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has animal programs that are available to guests not staying at the resort. Some typical offerings include animal tracking and feeding the flamingos. Your son might enjoy using the night vision goggles to view the safari animals or the animal enrichment program. During our stay here a few weeks ago we could see families out in an open air vehicle enjoying a ride through the savanna to the feeding station as part of the animal enrichment tour. You do not need to sign up, but ask at Concierge Services when you arrive at your resort if you are interested.
