Need help with dining plan. 2 adults/2 children 3&6. How to maximize table service credits? Can kids share at sig dining restaurants/char meals? What about BOG or TREX? Want to eat it all! :)

Hi Amanda!  My family loves the Disney Dining plan, and like you we are always looking to maximize our credits!

Our favorite restaurant to eat at, and a great way to maximize your table service credit, is dinner at 'Ohana.  'Ohana is all you can eat steak, shrimp, chicken and pork made on a wood fire grill.  Along with the meat offerings you also get  sides, salad, bread and dessert.  There is a fun show that goes along with dinner.  Think coconut races, the limbo and hula dancing!  You can even get a Hawaiian lie for participating.  If you make a dining reservation an hour before the nighttime firework show over Magic Kingdom and request a window seat you will have a perfect view.  When it is time for the fireworks to start, the lights dim and the music from the show gets pipped in.  So for one table service credit you get an awesome all you can eat meal, entertainment and a prime firework viewing spot!  That is credit maximization!

If you like seafood, another great meal on the Disney Dining Plan is dinner at Cape May Cafe.  Over Christmas we ate our credits worth in all you can eat crab legs. Be Our Guest is great and my 6 year old loves T-REX: A Prehistoric Family Adventure.

Character meals are a great way to use your table service credits as well. Character Meals are expensive and they save you time in the theme parks.  If you meet Mickey Mouse during breakfast, you wont have to wait an hour to see him at the park.  A great character meal to check out is Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom.  Make a 10:30 a.m. reservation and maximize your credit by having breakfast and lunch!

Because your children are both old enough to have their own dining plan, they wont be able to share credits.  There is plenty of yummy kid options for them, they wont want to.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
