Need help deciding whether to go October 2017 or Dec. 30-Jan 5, 2018? How are the crowds? Does Disneyworld decorate for halloween like disneyland?

    Hello Barbara,

It sounds as if you are thinking ahead and starting your Walt Disney World vacation planning early. You have come to the right place as most of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel are extreme planners and are always thinking about that "next" Disney trip.

While both October/fall and holidays are equally magical, I personally prefer to go to Walt Disney World in the fall. The weather is mild, the Halloween decorations are fun, and more importantly it is less crowded than during the Christmas and New Years holidays. Do not get me wrong, October can still have moderate crowds due to the different special events going on. However, it is nothing compared to the holiday crowds since many places. Another reason to choose the fall is there are often great discounts and special offers.

Yes, the Magic Kingdom is decorated for Halloween and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party beginning in September and ending on Halloween. Epcot will be host to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which is another great reason to travel during this time.

I hope this helps you in your decision making and please stop back by with more questions as your planning gets under way. We would love to help you with resort and dining questions and suggestions.
