Hi! I need HELP! Can’t decide between Port Orleans Riverside or a Mermaid Room at Art of Animation. My son is 6 and daughter is 9. Will be visiting MK & AK on this trip. Thank you!!!!!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laurie! You have chosen two fantastic Disney Resorts to examine. I’ve stayed at both properties and each one has so much to offer!

    Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
is known as a “value plus” which means is it a value Resort that really packs a punch. From it’s incredible themed pools (you can hear Dory and friends calling each other in the Big Blue Pool UNDER the water!) to it’s amazingly comfortable family suites, it’s an animated experience. Disney’s Port Orleans - Riverside Resort is a moderate Resort, because of the many more entertainment options and amenities. Old Man Island is a super fun water play and swim area, you can take a carriage ride or a stroll down the river, as well as examine the great big water wheel and the Food Court area. You can also catch a watercraft to Disney Springs or walk to it’s sister Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans - French Quarter for beignets! Your younger children may really engage with the characters around Art of Animation, but if they are activities driven, you may want to consider Riverside for it’s engaging options.

If I can help you find more Resort fun for your upcoming trip, please let me know. I love Movies Under the Stars or finding dessert before snuggling into my bed. We’ll see ya real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
