Hi! I need your help again with one last detail: Do we need to bring our passports with us on our port adventures? What to do if we all go swimming?..(We're from Canada going on Eastern Car.visiting St. Thomas and St. Martin). Thanks!

Welcome back, Renee!  It's good to hear from you again.

For Port Adventures, I usually make a copy of our US Passports and keep the originals in the stateroom safely back on the ship.  I've never had to really use the copies, but it sure is nice knowing that our citizenship can be identified should we encounter an emergency. If our Port Adventure involves water, I'll store the passport copies in a zip-topped bag inside my day bag. Everywhere we've ventured, there's always a safe place to leave a bag, or we'll take turns keeping watch.

Each adult in your traveling party will need a photo ID each time you disembark, and when we've traveled to Mexico and Canada, customs and immigration have asked to see the copies of our passports on a couple of occasions. (We have found that practice to be inconsistent...so its better to have appropriate ID especially when you're not traveling with a group.) Of course, everyone will need his/her Key to the World Card (stateroom key) to check on and off the ship.

We're also sailing this itinerary very soon, and I can't wait! Let me know how things go for you, and if you think of anything else, feel free to write me back. That's what I'm here for!  Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
