We need a handicapped cabin at Ft. Wilderness this summer. If we book this will they guarantee that we will get a handicapped cabin? Our family has always gotten a cabin next to ours so will this be possible?

As they say in the wilderness; Howdy Bob!
Welcome and thanks for asking the Disney Parks Moms Panel such a great question about wheelchair accessible Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
I'm happy to advise there are indeed cabins which are fully wheelchair accessible, these cabins are wider than regular to allow Guests plenty of extra space and also come fitted with roll-in showers with handy grab rails.
At the time of making your Resort reservation it's important to make sure the Cast Member assisting you is aware that you require a wheelchair accessible cabin.  At this time you should also make a request for your extended family to lodge in a cabin close by; requests such as these are not always guaranteed but are certainly granted wherever possible.
If I can help you further plan your summer 2014 vacation to Walt Disney World Resort please don't hesitate to come back and ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
