Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Jaclynn. I'm so glad you stopped by with this important question! It's my pleasure to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
You're going to love experiencing the
Disney Resorts Collection. When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, you stay IN the magic, even after you've left the theme parks! You'll find the Cast Members at your Disney Resort hotel to be very accommodating and very eager to make sure you have a magical stay. You'll have a mini-refrigerator in your room, but it likely won't be cold enough to keep your ice packs frozen. Take your ice packs to the Front Desk or to Bell Services and let the Cast Members there know that you need to keep them frozen to safely store insulin. They should be able to do that for you!
While
loose ice is not permitted in the theme parks, bagged ice
is. I recommend packing a box of gallon-sized Ziploc bags for your visit. Before leaving our room for the theme parks in the morning, I always pack a Ziploc bag with ice from our hotel's ice machine. I put that bag of ice in our cooler and it keeps our perishable items cool for our pixie-dusted adventures!
Did you know there's a conveniently located
First Aid Center in each of the four theme parks? The First Aid Center provides a clean, safe, and quiet space,
and they can store medications that require refrigeration!
I hope this was helpful, Jaclynn. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
