Hey there, Antonio!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question. I'll be happy to help you today!
Last week saw the launch of the
brand new turnstiles at the Main Entrance Gates to Disneyland Park and California Adventure. I'm guessing this might be what you are referring to, as part of the process requires Guests to scan their park tickets and take a photo to gain entry. While the technology here may be new, this is just an updated version of a system that has been in place for a while now, it just used to be a Cast Member snapping those photos. When you purchase
theme park tickets on the Disneyland website, you initially assign a name to each one, however, the ticket isn't officially assigned until you scan into the park for the first time and your photo is taken. Disneyland uses this technology to ensure that only you can use your ticket for the day. As far as I know, there is no way to skip this part of the process, but if you have specific questions, I'd recommend reaching out to
Guest Services for additional assistance - they would be happy to help you.
It looks like you are planning a visit for this Friday, which will see the kick-off to the
70th Anniversary Celebration! You'll want to look at the
Entertainment Schedule for the day to map out your must-see experiences, especially as the sun sets and the nighttime spectaculars take the stage. I personally cannot wait to see the
Paint The Night Parade stroll down Main Street and the new
Tapestry of Happiness projection show at "it's a small world". Over at California Adventure,
World of Color Happiness will take the stage, where you can even vote right in your Disneyland app on your favorite
Inside Out emotion to have a special spotlight in that evening's show!
Antonio, I sure hope this was helpful! If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to us here at planDisney.
Magic awaits!
